One stationary shot. The rocks and ocean are in soft-focus. Marianne is shot in profile and in focus, facing the sun. She blocks our view of Marianne. We don't even know she is there until Marianne turns to look at her. She looks furtively at Heloise several times and then Heloise looks back at her as if in her in anger.
In the next sequence, Marianne follows Heloise upstairs from behind. very much as she follows Heloise leave the house shot from behind. The voice-over suggests it's a pov shot. When they reach the top of the stairs, Heloise asks Mariannne to borrow a book. Now Marianne is shot from hehind. In one long take, she fetches the book and then brings it to Heloise, who is standing at the door and facing her.
