Heloise stands in the dark, waiting for Heloise. Marianne is tanding where Heloise will be standing near the end of the film as she leaves and Heloise will be on the stairs where Marianne is now. Near the end of the film, Marianne says teraful goodbyes to the mother and Heloise and then runs down these same stairs. Just as she is about leave, we hear Heloise off-screen say "Return to me." She appears in her brudal dress, like she did as a ghost. The light goes out, as it did before when we saw we twice and disappear twice. This ifnal itme, it's not clear if she is a ghost or just disappears because the door closes behind Marianne.

Hekloise never looks back at Marianne to ackowledge her.

Heloise's hood falls off her head.

Just when it seems like Heloise is going to jump to her death, she stops herself.

Heloise turns toward the camera, looking back at Marianne.

Does Heloise mean "running" not literally but escaping, as in runaway bride?

Marianne follows Heloise walk down the a path on the cliffs.
